A pesar de la fecha del post me animo a una respuesta sacada del sitio de HP y que yo daba por sabida al haber instalado WinXP.

Si todavia andas con problemas y no hallaste la solución, aqui la tienes y ya puedes quitar Win98-Me y darle al XP.
